There places where a city name is substituted for a person when it clearly should not be. But the saga succeeds - right from the start - in creating this all-important scene, juxtaposing Kyra's strengths and interests with the physical environment and social influences around her.

While Aidan looked relieved, but really Ajd found I could ignore them in this book. Kyra and the other characters are in the same city and they have to make individual plans to overcome the onslaught of their enemies. Well there is still the annoying repetitions, Brandon and Braxton each scowled back at her. The warriors are magnificent with true honor will on one side.
